Security Plus@is the mark that symbolizes Kurdyla and Associatesf security environment, an environment in which effective measures are taken to prevent the disclosure to third parties of proprietary and personal information contained in rewriting and translating work received from clients.

Securely Protecting Proprietary Information, Personal Data and Client Content

Intended use of Proprietary Information and Personal Data

Kurdyla and Associates meets all its obligations relating to the protection of personal data under the Personal Information Protection Act (2005). Furthermore, the company strictly limits the use of clientfs proprietary information and personal data to carrying out only its various services, which mainly comprise business skills training, rewriting and translating.

Disclosure of Clientfs Personal Information to Third Parties

Kurdyla and Associates will only disclose personal information received from a client to a third party under the following circumstances.

1. The client or individual has granted permission beforehand.
2. Use of the information is strictly limited to completing a given task entrusted to that third party.
3. Kurdyla and Associates is legally obliged to disclose the information.

Protection of Proprietary Information, Personal Data and Client Content

Kurdyla and Associates maintains a high level of security with regard to protecting proprietary information, personal data and client content.

Kurdyla and Associates@takes measures to prevent@the loss, destruction, alteration, unlawful access and disclosure of proprietary information, personal data and client content. Furthermore, in the unlikely event that information is disclosed, the matter will be dealt with promptly.

Principal Security Measures

Protecting clientsf data and contents stored electronically (PC security)

  • Control of access to PCs and servers ¨ Access to all company PCs require a password and user ID
  • Complete prevention of P2P file sharing software from leaking information ¨@ Prevent company personnel from downloading and installing software on company PCs ¨ Complete ban and removal of all P2P file sharing software from company PCs ¨ Maintain firewalls on all company routers ¨ Ban all non-work related email attachments
  • Prevention of information leakage when sending rewritten work and translations as email attachments from Kurdyla and Associates to clients ¨ All files are sent as password-protected self-extracting files.
  • Physically taking media containing clientsf personal data and content out of the office is forbidden to prevent information being leaked outside of the office. ¨ All files are encrypted so that they can only be opened/read by company PCs that have suitable software installed. ¨ All removable memory devices (e.g. USB memory sticks) have software installed that prevents them being used unless they are password protected.

Protecting clientfs data and content stored as hardcopy

  • Hardcopies of documents kept in secure filing cabinets
  • Strict policy on locking desk drawers
  • Controlled office entry and exit
  • Control of all door locks

Furthermore, all Kurdyla and Associates employees sign a confidentiality agreement regarding proprietary information, personal data and client content. This agreement is still in effect after an employee has left the company.
